Our trip to Maupin to white water raft 4 June 1999

General map of Oregon, we are just south of Portland near Wilsonville. Maupin is about 110 miles East of our house. Great drive past Mount Hood out of the rain into the sunshine. Click on the map for a less compressed version. Warning it's large.

Here is a more interesting map of the Deschutes valley through Maupin.

Here is a picture of our captain with Sue. No wooden leg or parrot but he knew the river as well as any pirate.

Click on any picture for a large version.

Here he is again on the boat. The other boat is a one man catamaran which was really great fun to ride.

The first of many great rapids was called Box Car and here is a picture of some other people going through.

We stopped for lunch about half way very civilized.

Another picture of the of the Deschutes river.

Just to show that we made it all the way here are a couple of pictures of the five of us. You can guess who took which picture. ( First piture Sue, Ken Holthaus, Jeff Buck and Bob Broome )

Well thanks to Bob for making a great day and all good trips have to end with a caboose.
